Teaching Philosophy

Cole teaches Lighting Design and Production Practices for Modern and Ballet majors to aid them as they transition to the professional world. The courses are designed to teach students about the professional production world so they may have the necessary tools to communicate with designers and production personnel that will bring their chorographic ideas to fruition. By putting the students through the hands-on design process of theatrical lighting, they will be more prepared as choreographers and dance makers.
