Research Statement

In my position at Undergraduate Studies I work with all of our departments to assess and evaluate the effectiveness of programs. Much of this includes designing, delivering, and analyzing surveys.  It also includes work modeling outcomes using institutional data and  mulitple and logistic regression techniques.

Another big part of my job is assessing learning outcomes in the University's General Education and Bachelor's Degree Requirements. This is an ongoing effort to collect, analyze, and interpret learning outcomes data and use it to improve the achievement of the learning outcomes and the overall effectiveness of the General Education program.  This information is an important element of the University's ongoing accreditation from the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU).

For my Ph.D. in Educational Psychology I am investigating new ways of doing student course evaluations using methods other than Likert rating scales because of the many validity problems associated with them.
