Courses I Teach

  • 6140-001 - Torts
    We will cover intentional torts, negligence, privacy torts, and product liability.
  • 7040-001 - Evidence
    In this course we cover the federal rules of evidence, and supplement greatly with divergent state evidence rules and practice. The theory behind evidence law will also be explored, but the emphasis will be on existing rules.
  • 7800-002 - Current Issues in Law and Biosciences
    This course covers topics such as forensic DNA databases, prenatal genetic testing, neuroscience evidence at sentencing, brain-based lie detection, tort liability for brain injuries, stem cell regulation, and other current topics at the crossroads of law and biosciences.
  • 7847-001 - Bioethics and the Law
    This course covers the ethical and legal implications of personhood, informed consent, abortion, the right to die, research ethics, and health reform.
