• Utah State Board of Education. Role: Committee Member. We are creating micro credentials for teachers to earn their Secondary Interventionist Reading Endorsement. 11/01/2021 - present
• Utah State Board of Education. Role: Committee Member. Serve on Committee to rewrite Utah ELA Core Standards. 01/11/2021 - present
• Utah State Board of Education. Role: Committee Member. Serve on USBE committee to create new Reading Endorsements. 08/01/2020 - 02/11/2021
• Utah State Board of Education. Role: Committee Member. Help revise the USBE's Struggling Readers Guide for Educators; ; Serve on USBE committee to rewrite ELA Core Standards. 06/01/2020 - 09/01/2020
• Utah State Office of Education. Role: Committee Member. We are developing a Reading Interventionist Endorsement. We have developed three courses that students will take in addition to a Level I Reading Endorsement. We currently have a bill in the legislature that will help fund our project. 08/13/2014 - present

Internal Service

• I was one of the representatives from the University of Utah at the Educated Persons conference and helped revised the general education social and behavioral sciences standard. member of subcommittee for Social and Behavioral Sciences, 10/27/2023 - present. University service.
• I served on the subcommittee of the General Education Curriculum Committee to help develop the criteria for Experiential Learning course designations. Committee Member, 01/23/2023 - 04/25/2023. University service.
• I lead the recruitment efforts for our graduate programs. 01/17/2023 - present. Department service.

• Recruitment Events. I organize and facilitate recruitment events for our graduate programs., 11/18/2021 - present. Department service.
• I am the faculty advisor for the Red Readers, a student group that conducts reading activities with children at the Taylor Public Library. 03/21/2016 - present. College service.

Community Partnership

• I am working with Dr. Kerry Herman and Dr. Noelle Converse to do a cross-age tutoring program in Granite School District. 11/21/2023 - present
• I am collaborating with Dr. Sheree Springer and representatives from Granite School District and Salt Lake City School District to reinstitute the Stegner Writing Institute. 08/23/2023 - present
• I also worked in collaboration with colleagues at the University of Utah and Salt Lake School District on the Stegner Writing Project. I will continue to work on that project this coming year, as well. For this project, we bring middle school and high school students from the Salt Lake School District up to the university for a two-week argumentative writing project. 06/05/2017 - 06/16/2017
