Biography

Philip D. Jeffs is the Director of the School of Accounting and Assistant Professor (Lecturer) at the University of Utah. Prior to joining the School of Accounting, Philip was employed in public accounting for 15 years with both Deloitte and EY. Philip started his career with Deloitte’s audit practice. After 3 years, he transferred to the tax practice. Most recently, he was a senior manager with Deloitte Tax, LLP.

Philip earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting in May 1999. He completed his Master of Business Administration in May 2001, graduating as the 2001 Outstanding Scholar for the program. Philip also has a Bachelor of Science degree in Consumer Studies. All three degrees are from the University of Utah. Philip completed the CPA exam in November 2001, and has been a licensed CPA with the State of Utah since 2002.

Philip has taught several national training courses for both Deloitte and EY. He has taught selected courses at David Eccles School of Business for the School of Accounting since August 2014. Through these opportunities, Philip developed an appreciation for teaching and mentoring students.
