Teaching Philosophy

Often the largest barrier to learning is fear regarding the subject.  This fear may result in the false belief that the subject is too difficult to learn.  My primary goal in teaching is to help students overcome this fear.  I do this by breaking down the material, reducing jargon, and fostering a learning environment where curiosity is encouraged.  As students approach difficult topics with confidence, they begin to see the world of knowledge open up to them.  This in turn results in better teaching outcomes in both clinical and academic settings.
