Since earning her BS in Nursing from the University of Utah in 2003, Sharifa has been a nurse at Primary Children's Medical Center's Pediatric Hematology/Oncology floor.  Upon completing her MS in Teaching Nursing from the University of Utah in 2008, she became a clinical faculty member with the College of Nursing's undergraduate and graduate programs.  She is currently completing her PhD in Nursing from the University of Utah. Sharifa loves to spend time with her two children, travel, and teach.
