Biography

I am a Professor in the School of Biological Sciences at the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, Utah. I teach an undergraduate courses Entomology (Biology 5445) and Evolution and Diversity of Life (Biology 2010), and a graduate course in Advanced Statistical Modeling for Biologists focused on the R programming language (Biology 6500). My academic research concerns the physiology, behavior, ecology and evolution of ants and the organisms that interact with them. I conduct fieldwork in the southwestern United States and several areas in Latin America, most recently in Costa Rica, Panama and Brazil.
