Research Summary

My work on fate and transport of contaminants in aquatic systems focuses on the transport of colloidal materials in groundwater (biological and non-biological particles in the size range of several nm to several um). This work lies at the interface between hydrogeology, geochemistry, biology, and engineering. My work extends to cycling and transport of inorganic compounds (e.g., mercury and selenium) in Great Salt Lake and organic (petroleum compounds) in the tar sands of eastern Utah.
