Biography
Dr. You Han Bae worked at University of Utah as a research assistant/associate professor till 1994. He joined the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (Korea)-a graduate school-in 1994 as an associate professor with the first departmental chairmanship and promoted to a full Professor in 1998. After serving 7.5 years in GIST, he re-joined the University of Utah as a full professor in 2002. His research interests include self-assembled super pH-sensitive nanoparticulates for multidrug resistant tumors, acidic solid tumor targeting, and novel polymeric vector design for the delivery of genetic materials. All his active research programs have been supported by NIH grants. In these areas, he has published over 225 peer-reviewed scientific papers, book chapters and U.S. patents, which have been cited over 9,500 times. He has been elected as the fellows of the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering, the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists, and the American Academy of Nanomedicine. He served Controlled Release Society as a member of Board of Scientific Advisory, the Controlled Release Society (Aug. 2000-July. 2003), as Chair of Controlled Release Society Young Investigator Award committee and as a program co-Chair for the 34th annual meeting of the Controlled Release Society at Long Beach, CA (2007). He is a co-chair of International Symposium on Recent Advances in Drug Delivery System since 2006. He is currently serving the Journal of Controlled Release as an associate editor, USA and the editor of the Concept Paper.
