My research interests center on how mental stress, depression and anxiety affects physical health, and what interventions, both behavioral and medical, optimize that interaction to create good health and wellbeing outcomes.

Biography

Lee Smith specializes in Internal and Behavioral Medicine. As an Associate Professor of Medicine (Clinical), he created the Stress Medicine Clinic at the U of U Health Sciences Center. He has taught about mind-body interaction and the research behind it widely throughout the United States, and coauthored the textbook Mind Body Health. Over a few years, he has developed effective methods to practically  implement the principles of stress resilience in enjoyable ways that optimize health and total wellbeing.
