Teaching Philosophy

Teaching philosophy:  The study of music is a culmination of thinking, feeling, emotional connection, and technical skill.  It is my goal to help each student reach their full potential by helping them to learn to get in touch with all these aspects.  I enjoy teaching students how to refine and perfect their playing, and in doing so, I am aware of how it affects their personal lives as well. The discipline necessary to become a fine musician is extraordinary.  It is so important to listen to ones playing and to be able to analyze the tone production and touch that is produced.  This is what I try to emphasize in my teaching and hopefully, help students to gain more love of music and what they are able to do and also to gain an excitement about practicing. Each student comes with their own set of skills, talent, and ability.  I try to never compare students with each other, but to simply bring out the very best in each student's playing.

Mission statement:  To help students become refined, excellent pianists.  To help students learn to concentrate, and to develop highly tuned mental skills in order to become solid and brilliant performers.  To help students  gain technical skills that will aid them in their efforts to play musically, and to help them strive to make  musical and emotional performances  be their ultimate goal.  To help students to release their emotion and passion while playing in order to move an audience.
