Teaching Philosophy

I believe that ciritical thinking and independent research are lifelong skills critical to a functioning democracy.  As a librarian, my objective is make students information literate, which means I teach strategies for doing efficient, effective college-level research in the library and on the Internet.  The classes I teach are workshops or course integrated instruction sessions that support curriculum and research on campus.

  • Marriott Library Workshop - American Factfinder: U.S. Census on the Web
    One hour introduction to demographic data from the U.S. Census. Workshops scheduled at the library each semester or on request.
  • UGS - Embedded Librarian for Block U
    Embedded librarian for UGS Block U, Sustainability (2013-14); Water and Sustainabiliyt (2014-15); Health Food & Social Justice (2015-16)
  • Marriott Library Workshop - Introduction to Text Analysis
