Biography

Eduard Gappmaier, PT, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy, College of Health.  Being a native of Austria he received his degree in Physical Therapy at the University of Innsbruck and subsequently immigrated to the USA to complete a PhD in Exercise Physiology at Brigham Young University.  As director of the Clinical Neuromuscular Research Laboratory his research focuses on the effects of physical activity on physical fitness, function, health related quality of life and disease progression in persons with neuromuscular disease and multiple sclerosis.

Research Summary

My general area of interest is aimed at the effects of physical activity on physical fitness, function, health related quality of life and disease progression in individuals with chronic disease; with a specific research focus on persons with neuromuscular disease and multiple sclerosis.
