Biography

Dr. Lowder is originally from Rupert, Idaho where he graduated from high school in 1966.  He later graduated from Brigham Young University in 1972 and the University of Washington School of Dentistry in 1976.  He practiced general dentistry in Montpelier, Idaho until 1985 when he moved his practice to Logan, Utah and limited it to Craniofacial Pain and Temporpmandibular Disorders,(TMD/TMJ).  He maintained two practice locations in Logan and Ogden, Utah from 1985-2009.  He began teaching the Occlusion and Temporomandibular Disorders course in the University of Utah Regional Dental Education Program, RDEP, in 1992 as an adjunct part-time instructor.  In 2007 he became half-time faculty in the Dental Program at the U of U and in 2009 he left private practice to become a  full-time assistant professor at the University of Utah.   He is the director of the Pathways Program in the School of Dentistry and continues teaching the Advanced Occlusion course and providing treatment to patients in the Faculty Practice and clinical attending for TMD and Dental Sleep Medicine at the School of Dentistry Wakara Clinic and the Greenwood dental clinic.
