Teaching Philosophy

I have embraced the art of actively engaging students and challenging them to critically think through issues and to debate solutions. In my teaching, I strive to create an atmosphere that is safe for students to express opinions and ideas through small group discussions on-line and on a discussion forum. In these discussions, I encourage students to see the benefits of inclusivity of new ideas from different types of nurses, disciplines, and cultures in the belief that this enriches the learning environment. Moreover, I encourage students to embrace the role of being a scholar, leader, educator, competent clinician, mentor, and lifelong learner.
