Research Summary

Günseli Berik’s research and teaching areas are development economics, labor economics, feminist economics. Her research has focused on gender inequalities in livelihood and well-being outcomes (earnings, working conditions, training, population sex ratios, time use in the household). The geographic focus of her research has been Turkey, Taiwan, Korea, Bangladesh, the US, and Utah. Her latest work is on broader metrics of economic welfare that incorporate unpaid care work and the environment.
