Research Statement

I study US economic history, focusing on labor markets, migration, and racial inequality in the early 20th century. I have recently begun to explore new topics in 19th century racial inequality, focusing on health and criminal justice. I have also begun to develop new strands of research in contemporary (late 20th / early 21st century) immigration and internal migration in the US.
