Research Statement

Dr. Fan conducts research in three related areas: (1) household saving/borrowing and financial management (i.e., optimal credit use, life-cycle saving, emergency fund), (2) household expenditures and the impact of government regulations (i,e., ethnic differences in consumption patterns, apparel trade restriction), and (3) international comparison of consumer behavior (i.e., consumer decision making styles of Chinese and Americans).
