Research Summary

Langlands conjectures are a circle of major problems in representation theory and give a classification scheme for representations of reductive groups. In a work with Wee Teck Gan we gave a proof of this conjecture for the exceptional group G2. Our method involves a transfer from G2 to the group PGSp(6) (where a classification is known) via a theta correspondence arising from the minimal representation of the group E7, an object I constructed while a postdoc at MIT in 1989.
