Lisa Davis joined the BirthCare HealthCare practice at the University of Utah College of Nursing December 2009. She grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah and attended nursing school at Brigham Young University. Before becoming a midwife Lisa worked as a nurse in Labor and Delivery, Pediatrics, and Newborn Nursery. She received her Masters in Nurse-Midwifery and Women’s Health from the University of Utah in May 2008. She then worked as a Certified Nurse Midwife in Alexandria, Virginia and Weslaco, Texas before coming to the University of Utah.
Her areas of clinical interest include international maternal & child health. She recently spent 6 months working for Doctors Without Borders in Bangladesh. Her other international humanitarian experiences include volunteer work as a midwife at the Holy Family Birth Center on the border of Mexico, and teaching neonatal resuscitation to midwives in Swaziland, South Africa. She has also volunteered as a nurse in Bolivia, Argentina & Nicaragua. Lisa is passionate about providing midwifery care and empowering women during their childbearing experiences and throughout their lives.
