Research Summary

My research interests focus on the experiences of youth athletes as well as sport spectators. I'm particularly interested in the factors that drive (dis)satisfaction. I'm also interested in loyalty in sport (from participant, parent, coach, and spectator perspectives), word-of-mouth, and sense of community sport.

Biography

Preston Tanner is an online program coordinator, internship coordinator, and lecturer in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism at the University of Utah. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise and Sport Science, a Master of Science degree in Exercise and Sport Science (Psychosocial Aspects of Sport emphasis), a Master of Business Administration (Marketing emphasis) from the David Eccles School of Business, and is a doctoral candidate in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism at the University of Utah. His teaching interests include sport trends, sport business, leisure behavior, marketing strategy, financial management, professional preparation, coaching, entrepreneurial recreation, teaching in higher education, and online education. His research interests include sport spectator satisfaction, loyalty, and sense of community in sport.
