Dr. Malone has conducted and published over 230 articles in the peer reviewed literature on medication safety and health economics and outcomes research. Over 12,000 papers have cited his published studies. Dan’s research experience includes randomized controlled trials, practice-based research, drug safety, economic modeling, and outcomes research using real-world data. His extramural research funding exceeds $15 million as Principal or co-Principal Investigator, with over $24 million in total funding. He was President of the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research from 2015 to 2016. Dr. Malone is a Fellow of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy and an American Foundation for Pharmaceutical Education fellow. His awards include a Fellowship in Health Outcomes from the PhRMA Foundation, Excellence in Pharmacy Award from Mylan Pharmaceuticals, and Professional Achievement Award from the University of Colorado (awarded twice), and two Distinguished Service Awards from the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR).
