Brenda Teig grew up in Des Moines, Iowa. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Northern Iowa graduating as a member of the local Omicron Delta Kappa society. She obtained her J.D. from the University of Oregon in 1997. She first worked in Nevada for Legal Services developing a pro bono program in conjunction with the then newly established William S. Boyd School of Law. She next practiced law in a small San Francisco boutique firm specializing in entertainment and sports law matters. She spent the majority of her time handling federal court litigation matters for the Estate of Tupac Shakur. In April 2005, she was hired as Pro Bono Coordinator for Utah Legal Services and was later recognized by the Utah State Bar in 2010 as Pro Bono Legal Aid Attorney of the Year. Brenda now works with her husband at Aspen View Law and at home with their two young children and dogs.
