Courses I Teach

  • #### (new) - Urban Design Capstone Studio.
    An advanced level, client-based studio working on an urban design project of import to the client. Studio will be taught every Spring Semester.
  • #### (new) - Urban Des. Studio: Site, Structure, Space & Street.
    An introductory level studio for those wanting literacy and experience in design of urban spaces. The studio introduces students to the components of the built environment from technological and experiential foundations. Students will be working on sites in the Salt Lake Valley to become familiar with project and public realm design.
  • CMP 6100 - Planning History and Theory.
    (formerly City and Profession). Survey of Planning History and Theory made pertinent to planning practice. Material is presented in a synthetic and chronological manner, connecting urban theory, planning history, decision making, and planning theory.
  • CMP 6470 - Case Studies in Urban Designand Development.
    A seminar / interactive course on the urban design products found in practice. Reviews both positive and negative exemplars from the past 30 years.
