Biography

George Marie grew up in Washington, IA and attended Drake University and the University of Iowa, earning a Bachelor of Music degree and a Master of Arts degrees. As a Ph.D. candidate, he studies with Miguel Chuaqui at the University of Utah, where he teaches music theory and musicianship courses. As a composer and researcher, his creative work has been presented at the 2009 and 2012 Prospectives International Digital Art Festival, the 2008 International Double Reed Society Conference, and the 2007 Midwest Composers Symposium.
