Teaching Philosophy

My teaching philosophy is interdisciplinary and focuses on connecting technical work in ballet to its larger context. I strive to create a supportive and positive learning environment where students are encouraged to think critically and develop their individuality as artists. As a certified teacher in the American Ballet Theatre National Training Curriculum, I emphasize proper body alignment, kinetics, and anatomy to produce proficient dancers and teachers. My teaching approach is influenced by the Russian, French, and Italian schools of ballet and incorporates best practices in dance injury prevention and dancer health. I provide detailed guidance and progression in my classes, drawing inspiration from my training with Galina Kekicheva, Albert Mirzoyan, and Raymond Lukens. My goal is to prepare students for a successful career in professional ballet.
