Biography

Since becoming a registered nurse in 2005, I have enjoyed working in a variety of settings, including surgical ICU, intermediate care, post-anesthesia care unit, endoscopy, and cardiovascular procedure and recovery unit. I am passionate about perianesthesia nursing and am involved with the Utah Society of Perianesthesia Nurses. I left the bedside in May 2023 to return to school and pursue a DNP degree. I am a student in the Post-MS to DNP in Organizational Leadership track at the University of Utah College of Nursing (on track to graduate in 2025).

I started working in nursing education in 2009 as a unit education consultant in the post-anesthesia care unit and quickly became enthustastic about nursing education. My experience in the hospital was valuable, but my passion is working with nursing students. I returned to school in 2018 to purse a MS in Nursing Eduction from the University of Utah. Before joining the faculty (May 2022) at the University of Utah College of Nursing, I taught pathophysiology, pharmacology, and medical-surgical nursing courses at a local college. I currently teach foundations, clinical, and online courses for the Baccalaureate Program and the MS in Nursing Education program. I hope to inspire my students to become life-long learners and confident patient advocates.
