Biography

Peggy, a California native, is an Assistant Clinical Professor with the University of Utah graduate Nurse-Midwifery and Women's Health Nurse-Practitioner programs.  Peggy began her nursing career by working for the National Health Service Corps/ Indian Health Service after graduation with a baccalaureate degree from the University of Wyoming in 1980. In 1986, she obtained a master's degree and certification as a women's health nurse practitioner from the University of California, San Francisco. Peggy worked for many years as a women's health nurse practitioner in the San Francisco Bay Area and then in Salt Lake City after moving to Utah with her family in 1990. She obtained a post-master's certificate in nurse-midwifery in 1997 from the University of Utah.  She has since worked as a full-scope nurse-midwife, first in Utah County. She joined BirthCare HealthCare in 2000.

Peggy believes in providing individualized, high quality, compassionate care to women and encourages women to play an active role in maintaining their own health.  On a personal note, Peggy is married, has 3 children, and 2 dogs.  Her time away from work is usually spent with her family & pets; hobbies include exercising and volunteering with the family's Intermountain Therapy dog.
