Biography

Lawrence Barusch, a shareholder with Parsons Behle & Latimer, Salt Lake City Utah, received his B.A. summa cum laude from Harvard College (1971) and his J.D. cum laude from Harvard Law School (1975). He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa (early election, 1970) and held a Sheldon Prize Fellowship (1971-72). He has chaired the tax section at Parsons and is past chair of the tax section of the Utah State Bar. He served on the Utah State Tax Review Commission, the Committee on U.S. Activities of Foreigners, Tax Section ABA and the board of The Road Home (Utah Travelers Aid). Mr. Barusch resided in Guam from 1977 to 1985 where he served as President of the Guam Bar Association and as counsel to the Guam Tax Reform Commission. He has taught for more than a decade as an adjunct professor at the S.J. Quinney College of Law. His articles on taxation have appeared in Tax Notes, Utah Bar Journal. Guam Bar Journal, Offshore Investment, Tax Management International Journal and Utah Business. He received the Peter W. Billings Excellence in teaching Award from the College of Law and the Distinguished Tax Practitioner of the Year award  from the Tax Section of the Utah State Bar.

Mr. Barusch practices in several areas of taxation including ERISA and employee benefits, executive compensation, corporate and partnership tax and international taxation.
