Biography
Marci L. Butterfield, CPA is Assistant Professor of Accounting at the University of Utah's David Eccles School of Business. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Utah in 1998 and a Master's of Business Administration from the University of Utah in 1999 where she served as President of Beta Alpha Psi, the accounting organization. After graduation, she joined the public accounting firm of Arthur Andersen in the Audit and Assurance Division until spring of 2001. She joined the School of Accounting and Information Systems in the fall of 2003. She teaches introductory classes in financial and managerial accounting in the undergraduate program and is the faculty advisor for Beta Alpha Psi. She is the recipient of the 2004-2005 Marvin J. Ashton Undergraduate Teaching Excellence Award. Marci also enjoys the sport of women's gymnastics and has been involved as a gymnastics judge for the past nineteen years. As a National gymnastics judge, Marci has been able to judge at all levels of competition from private intersquads to NCAA Collegiate National Finals. Marci is married and has six children.
